July 5 - August 14
VERY IMPORTANT NOTE: Bear with us friends, below are our current Summer offerings, we will update the schedule as our locations update us on protocol and availability. Please read all the options carefully. You signing up early and telling your friends will help us determine what classes to run, and give us time to determine what we will need to set up our spaces. We look forward to serving you and your families.
Our Music Together® Summer session will run for 6 weeks from July 5 through August 14. All classes meet once per week. We will be offering three options this Summer; Outdoor and Indoor In-Person Classes and Zoom classes. Read on for details for each class. Families will be learning songs from the Harmonica Collection this Summer.
What Will Indoor In-Person Classes be Like?
Our indoor classes will take place at the Charlottesville Waldorf School and McGuffey Art Center. Adults attending these classes must be vaccinated. Children two and over will be required to wear masks (until our state and local health departments have confirmed that it is safe for them to unmask). We will socially distance by about 5 feet between families or more. We will have CO2 monitors at all locations and we will be taking steps to maximize ventilation during and between classes. We encourage families to bring their own play along instruments, but will have sanatized bags available as well. Please only sign up for this option if you are comfortable with the potential risks of attending class in an indoor setting.
What Will Outdoor In-Person Classes Be Like?
Our outdoor classes will take place in a beautiful large fenced-in covered pavilion. Your teacher will draw circles six feet apart for families to sit in. We encourage you to bring a blanket for your family to sit on, this will keep your bottoms cozy as the ground is concrete. Until the state information reflects otherwise, we will continue to practice safe, socially distanced classes. Masks will be optional for all participants, including children. Each week, families can choose to bring their own play-along instruments or use one of our sanatized instrument bags. Please only sign up for this option if you are
comfortable with the potential risks of attending class in a mask-optional outdoor setting.
Weather-Related Cancellations
Since we are in a covered pavilion, we will only cancel class if there is a severe storm warming. If this happens we will move the class online to the Zoom format.
Zoom Classes:
These will be on the zoom box at the times listed below. Zoom classes are 35 minutes long. All members of the family are welcome to attend and grandparents are welcome to zoom in too!
Online Silver Lining
If you have friends or family around the country with whom you’d like to share your class experience, you’re welcome to send them a link to our center’s registration page, and invite them to enroll in your family’s online class with you. We would love to see them! I mean, why not since we are partially still online anyway? And that would be an amazing silver lining for all of this craziness. Grandparents are welcome to pop in at no extra cost. We continue to offer pandemic pricing for our online program. Tuition is charged per family. Click here for Tuition information.
